It wasn't anything I'd done, nor was it a broken bbcode, in fact there was a base href tag in the header which was monkeying around with the URLs and causing the in-document links to break.
I've taken it out, but I'm not sure if it'll break anything else. I can't imagine that it will, but who knows.

Hi David
Couple of things -
* Any idea when you'll get around to looking at the issue of colour banding, spacing and font size - with regard to the thread sections (eg. tech supp, legacy, thief gen, thief missions, etc) as it still hurts the eyes etc. By contrast the main forum is much better on the eyes now.
* When a post is from an ignored user, atm it looks very mess and uses up more space than a normal one line post. Can you set the default so said post/s are shrunk/minimized..?
* When replying to a thread, the contents of a thread used to appear under the 'reply to thread' editing window in the 'topic review' section, but for some reason now it doesn't show anything for me anymore..
* When in a reply to thread, the 'smiles' are using up too much space, would it be possible to add a scroll bar so there isn't empty space under the editing window/box. I imagine this is more of an issue for people using lower screen resolutions - see attached image..
* I see VB4 has an enhanced attachment option, but when in a reply to thread, I cant see the option anywhere..?

There certainly are more issues to work out--it would be nice if thread lists could get back to one line per thread, for example--but I personally feel like David's tireless work has resulted in us reaching a decent spot. The fires have been put out, and from here on out it's a matter of fine tuning things as time permits.
Of course by time I mean David's time, I think another TTLG meet is in order just so I can buy him a drink :D

Things really improved. Thanks David!
Still a few things that bother me.
(
http://www.ttlg.com/vb4test/images/statusicon/post_old.png) The link to a individual post, on the upper left of each post, doesn't work.
The icon is still visible. Instead there's now the #1-999 option on the upper left.
That's because it's now the semi-visible number on the upper
right.

Dropping the zebra striping in the forum list is a tremendous relief on the eyes. Hopefully it makes a good case for doing the same to the thread list..
I miss it. :(

Clicking on the "first unread post" link causes the page to refresh and the markers* of which posts have and haven't been read to all be set to "read". Presumably this is because the link has an idiotic "&page=1" in the URL, so it's not the same address.
(*Well... currently the lack of post icon that indicates that a post is unread.)

Can we have black text back for maximum readability? With the onset of 'Web 2.0,' there's this tendency for everyone who builds a web site to make their text color charcoal gray instead of black. It's stylish and austere, I guess.
Gamerswithjobs.com has theirs set to #464646, but fortunately I can read most of what's worth reading there in an RSS feeder. Ours seems to be at #333333.
Post bodies are where the font size is the smallest, yet most of the reading occurs. We should squint the least there. The text color should be #000000, straight up, no foolin' black.
I also noticed when I searched this thread for "black," the search result text is clipped because I zoom my text. I think that might be on your todo list already, though.

Thank you David for fixing the FAQ issue. Much appreciated. :thumb:

I agree. I'm used to it, and hope it doesn't change in threads and thread lists. What I do hope changes in thread lists, is having the first poster's name set on the same line as the rest of the info. That would make more threads visible at once.
I also miss #views. Perhaps most people didn't need it, but I found it useful. There's an empty column all the way to the right...
Oh yeah, and the word wrap issue...

Since I've also been updating a forum theme lately (not here) I just wanted to say, I know what a
tedious work it is, trying to fix a new theme up with the charms of an older one. Take your time Daveh, it's not like anything was actually broken atm. So yay! :)
The tool I use for the necessary PHP code comparisons is (
http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/winmerge_portable) WinMerge. You probably have something like that...just saying.
