I dunno if this one's specific to the new forums, but why does the private calendar let you add events that happened six years ago, while not letting you set an event for next year?

Looks like it would have been like that for quite a while as I've never even looked at those settings before.
It's now ranged from 2004-2008

Yeah, but even when you checked the box, the public polls never used to work. David fixed it a few months back for the first Book Club vote IIRC.
