These questions are for just plain old morrowind: elder scrolls (not tribunal or all that other stuff even though i have no idea what that other stuff is so in theory i guess this could be that other stuff). When in Vivec-Temple i went to the office of the watch where i was asked to dispatch a sleeper assassin. i did, but then there was a guy who asked me to talk to a mage he had made fun of a while ago. he gave me a book to give to him but sadly i put it on the back burner and now i think its...gone. what is that book?
secondly. in the corpusartium in Tel fyr there is the fat spider guy. im not going to say what he is cus its kind've a spoiler (for me it would be), anyway im VERY intruiged about his people but i need to find books that he can translate for me, i have the egg of time, does anyone know any other books? and also he kinda hinted to the fact that i could tell other people that i talked to the last living...him. is there actually anyone out there i could gloat too, say maybe an archeologist or something, for questing puposes and whatnot?
also, ive made my way to the center of the puzzle canal in vivec but im stuck. the riddle says something to the effect of "breath the water of vivec's glory" or something. im pretty sure it has something to do with water breathing and there is a big magic door thing similar to the ghost gate in its artistic...doorness. i just dont know what to do with water breathing.
Any help would be great, also just a little quirk that i have, does anyone else have extremely low ArmorPoint ratings? the highest thing in my world is inondril armor at 76. ebony, adamantium (that official plugin thing), and daedric are all 60 and below. but when i check my brothers game (on a different computer) his ratings are in the 100's and ebony is the best for him. What have i done?

I don't have all the answers, but here are some:
The varying armour ratings are to do with the character's skill levels with different types of armour. If your light armour skill is v. high and heavy v. low, you'll be better off wearing chitin than daedric. The armour rating of different pieces of kit is displayed with modifications specific to YOUR character's skill. That's why it's different in your brother's game. Just increase yr different types of armour skills and watch the armour ratings of armour go up. (Did this make sense?)
Breathing waters of Vivec's glory translates as letting yourself drown. Or nearly. As you're about to join the ancestors you are healed and the shrine opens. (This was a real bugger, I had to read a spoiler to do it too)
The Egg of Time and two other books (Hanging Gardens and Divine Metaphysics) can be shown to either Yagrum or Baladas, a renegade Telvanni wizard living in Gnisis. I only did the latter; I believe the Yagrum path has sth to do w/ alternative main quest ending? Baladas worked fine for me, just don't kill his pet Daedroth, it won't attack you anyway, and he won't talk to you if you do.
This quest is described here: (

I cannot remember the book in your first question.

the book is spirit of the daedra i believe, yagrum, the spider guy, has to do with the alternate main quest, and he has really nothing to do with the egg of time or those books as far as i know, baladas in gnisis needs the hanging gardens to translate the egg of time and divine metaphysics, which explains the dissapearance of the dwarves which you can then tell to trebonious in the mages guild to complete his quest, then in puzzle canal, drown yourself until you have about 5 hp left, then surface and you will be healed and a bridge will appear above you. the armor has to do with your skills, also the governing attributes of the armor skill in question. (heavy armor=endurance) hope that helps!
