Heh. You know the writer/director/producer was the bear jew guy from Inglorious Bastards right? Part of why I like it is the nostalgia it produces. I had that bluejean jacket. I had that hairstyle. I had that dirtbike. I wish I had that Cuda. Everybody that ever tightened a bolt under those stick jacks feared what happened to the boy. I've veered off again haven't I? Sorry.

Whaaaa? Phantasm was Don Coscarelli... Bear Jew was Eli Roth... creative "powerhouse" behind the SAW series.

Whoa whoa whoa. Eli Roth is responsible for 'Hostel' and 'Cabin Fever.' Let's not go laying crimes against cinema that he didn't commit at his feet.
Scots Taffer on 20/8/2010 at 05:52
Though those two alone are a sort of cinematic holocaust.

Phantasm was juvenile, choppy edited, poorly acted, with cheesey effects and one scene lifted directly from Dune, and it was still great. I still love it and the ball will always be one of my favorite devices. If you can't like it in spite of it's flaws I'm afraid I will have to break your leg.
Whoa! Hold on there, killer! I never said I didn't absolutely
love Phantasm. In fact, I just finished doing an all four movie marathon last night (right after posting)-- and Reg is still the fucking man. And the Tall Man one of the intriguing horror villains of all time.
Yup. They're cheesy, poorly acted, and utterly ridiculous. And totally wild and different, which is why I love them so and can watch them over and over.
BTW--I've been kicking this little idea around for a bit...

(

Flangdangit must I fact check everything I read on the net? It was something I read when I checked out Dunmuir. Well Dunmuir was in Burnt Offerings right? Everything on the net can't be wrong can it?
A Dunmuir Thief would be a perfect fit. Well, not really Dunmuir, the set they built. Matter of fact why hasn't anyone adapted it to a game platform before? Phantasm would be a kickass game... and then steam would have it and it would take me a month to download on dialup. One day I have to join the 20th century.
We seem to have shat all over a bunch of vampires eh? I got no idea what that movie is as the only vamp flicks I've liked enough to remember lately were Dusk to Dawn and 30 Days of Night. LOL at old toro BTW.
Saw "Woman in Black" sssscccccrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaach lordgodamighty. Thanks Muzy. Had an owl do that about a foot from my ear in pitch black once.
Also also- when the weather cools and the leaves rattle dry in the treetops I'm doing another pumkin carving/ghost story/hauntedhouse/spookypic/Octoberthread so you peckerheads better grow some pumpkins and sharpen some knives and wits. I guess I'll have to go into the woods at night alone to get another story because I've told them all by now dammit. They never happen when you expect though.
Yes I'm done derailing.

I found the one I was looking for , at first I thought it was part of the blade trilogy but it turned out to be " Queen of the Damned"
Queue on 23/8/2010 at 14:18
Nope, not part of the Blade tri-quad-spin-off-after-spin-off-rilogy. Instead it's yet another in a continuing line of shitty Anne Rice homoerotica?
But who can tell, really?
Honestly, wasn't the most intriguing part of that movie Aaliyah's death?
