For instance the diaries in the haunted house. Check earlier threads to find out why.
Beyond that, I don't remember any specific dialogues that would serve as examples - after all, it's been a while since I played the game.
Yah the haunted house quest was seriously lacking in the scary department.
Somehow I've never managed to finish the game. It lost its appeal during the werewolf fight, and I've never picked it up again. First time I abandoned a game that I actually liked playing. :nono:

I actually found it quite scary and even better than the famous Cradle mission from TDS.

You mean the Haunted Hotel quest? I found that quest pretty scary. The music adds to the atmosphere as well although it's used constantly for later creepy quests. The exploding lights made me jump.
My favorite scary quest was looking for Andrei, the Sabbat leader.
His lair reminded me of Hellraiser with those hanging chains and pieces of flesh all over the place. And those mutated human heads with arms growing out freaked me out.
You weren't supposed to fight it... you were just supposed to run like hell for 5 minutes and then back to the lift!

Apparently you can kill that werewolf by trapping it in the observatory dome doors or something. I never did that myself though -- I always ran like hell and hid.

I pulled that kill off once, but it was rather annoying. It's much easier to just run around and lose the werewolf and then sprint for the lift out when it gets there.
Aerothorn - for some of your performance issues, try jacking up your virtual memory to about 1.4GB, since Bloodlines has a bit of a memory leak bug, and never got most of the more recent Source optimizations.

I guess I'm in a minority, but I must say I was somewhat underwhelmed by Vampire: Bloodlines. It's definitely a fun game, but as many have already mentioned, the last few levels/missions are sorely lacking in imagination (and, I would say, fun)... in addition to which I felt that the game tried too hard to be dark and gothic. Okay, it's about vampires, but that doesn't mean that it should follow the template too much. My main quibble here is that some of the writing is terribly clichéd. Still, it's well worth checking out, especially now that the fan patches have advanced this much.
I disagree. I think the atmosphere in Bloodlines is simply amazing; what I liked best about it is how great it ties the vampire world with OUR world. You can almost identify with it.
And I don't think too many ambitious games go for this "down to earth, yet much darker" approach, save maybe the gta series, but that's a whole different story.
Basically what I am saying is that if you do not think Bloodlines is great, you should die :D

Werewolf kill isnt that hard - you may get slapped once running for the outside switch but its no problem, besides youre throwing away 5 Exp or around that by not killing him :p
Btw in case of performance problems you should try making a batch running the game at low priority. Helped me on my old rig.

You know what the most annoying thing about killing the werewolf was? That certain somebody taking credit for it.
Kroakie on 28/10/2005 at 11:05
IIRC, there were 2 werwolves. One went after you, the other ended up as a bloody trophy.
Never killed him myself. I just ran like a sissy girl.
