Yeah, I don't think my Persuasion skill was high enough. I never got the option to ask him about another quest.

VTM:Bloodlines FTW!
One of the best games ever...

Anyone manage to do the cemetary quest as Malkavian? Even with a maxed out Firearms skill and having Ranged at level 8, I still can't keep the zombie hordes from breaking through. I guess I need Celerity which Malkavians don't have. Anyway, a fun quest even though I fail in the end. I just reload.
I did it as Ventrue, but I guess it's pretty much the same...
Buy a
Brokk pistol (you can buy one from the black guy with afro hair in Downtown at least, and you'll find those later in the game too), you can fire it 12 times before you have to reload it and it's very quick.
Aim to the head and the zombies die instantly, that's the only way to complete the quest. You have to run between the gates all the time,
only concentrate on killing the zombies that are close to the gate. You have to be very quick, if one of the zombies catch you (
BRAINS!!!), it's time to load the latest quick save and try again - you can't waste a single second.
You can kill a zombie with a headshot with
any weapon, but Brokk seemed to be the best for me. You should have other guns too, Colt Anaconda is very accurate and you can try shooting zombies from the distance while you're still running.
Reload the gun(s) while you're running between the gates and try shooting the zombies on your way (don't stop to shoot them though).
I don't know about the disciplines that Malkavians have, but I noticed that "Trance" (Ventrue) was pretty good. I only noticed that
after finishing this quest though, so disciplines aren't necessary.
Good luck! Let me know if you can finish it, it took ages from me! :thumb:

Don't Malkies have auspex? Been a while since I played. If they do, that helps a lot for that quest, since it color codes the zombies into ones going for the gate vs ones going for you. That way, you can ignore the ones who want to eat you and shoot the ones who are the real problem.

Yeah, I have Auspex but only at level 3. I've spent most of my points in Dementation, Obfuscation, Ranged, etc. I could give it a try though and see how it turns out. My main problem is not getting to each gate in time.

Oh yeah? If that's how it works, this quest should be a piece of cake. :D
I did notice that there are zombies that don't seem to be too interested in bashing the gate (they wanted to bash me instead!), but since I had no time to follow their moves, I shot them all. :cheeky:

As soon as you've killed the zombies that are getting too close to the gate, you must run to the other gate and take the shortest possible route... Don't waste your time on killing zombies that are still far away. The first 3 minutes are easy, but when there's about two minutes left, it's getting insanely difficult...
Apparently they've made this quest easier in the 1.8 patch... meh :erg:

I guess I'm in a minority, but I must say I was somewhat underwhelmed by Vampire: Bloodlines. It's definitely a fun game, but as many have already mentioned, the last few levels/missions are sorely lacking in imagination (and, I would say, fun)... in addition to which I felt that the game tried too hard to be dark and gothic. Okay, it's about vampires, but that doesn't mean that it should follow the template too much. My main quibble here is that some of the writing is terribly clichéd. Still, it's well worth checking out, especially now that the fan patches have advanced this much.

Well, I believe zombies do go from hostile to neutral (or rather, from player-bashing to gate bashing) eventually. It certainly helps to know who to go for first.
Level 1 auspex should be quite enough. Don't need to see through walls or anything here, just a bit of basic aura sensing.
Eh...my first time through, the last couple of levels sucked. The other times through, they were plenty of fun. More of a no fun for melee vs lots of fun for gunslings, to me anyway.
Er....which part of the writing, exactly, did you think was cliched? and compared to what?

For instance the diaries in the haunted house. Check earlier threads to find out why.
Beyond that, I don't remember any specific dialogues that would serve as examples - after all, it's been a while since I played the game.
