The problem with free speech is always that it also gives freedom of speech to people who really don't deserve it.
Despite having played League of Legends for many years, I still don't think hate speech is acceptable just because you can try to pretend you didn't see it.

...until a big enough government or agency sues them.
Remember when we got refunds?
Thanks, Australia!

Honestly for all the hoopla, this sounds like "business as usual" for Valve.

Well this lowers my fears for when I finish CrossTrix off and plan to submit it to the service. Be nice to have a second game on there, and one that is 100% done by me.

I agree with this comment from (
https://www.theverge.com/2018/6/6/17435244/valve-steam-game-release-new-policy) The Verge's comments section regarding this news:

As an adult confident in my ability to not buy games that I don’t want to buy, this is fine by me.
I neither need nor
want Valve to curate it's inventory for me. The internet is awash in people and websites telling me what the great new games are that I should be playing, so I have no doubt I'll still be able to find the good stuff.
The only ones hurt by this are gamers who (for some reason) have no other means of discovering new games than randomly clicking things in the Recent Releases feed, and developers who have no other means of exposure than relying on people randomly clicking their game in the Recent Releases feed.

I eagerly await the releases following this update:
* Flappy Bird: With Tits Now!
* Reverse Wolfeinstein: Nazis Were Actually The Good Guys
* Backdoor Sluts 69
* Supra Mayro Kratt 5
* Ethnic Cleansing HD Remaster
* WifeBeater 2: At The Women's Shelter
* Yandere Simulator*
* More asset flips with missing executables
* 12 year olds publishing Unity tutorial games but with naughty words in the title
* Actually good games that get buried under these mounds of shit with ironically positive reviews
*okay this one's never actually getting released

If that was true for eveything you can buy, people would be spending days doing nothing but watching reviews, including every goddamn piece of food, and for every store that distributes them. Noone is expert on everything, and having some basic standards and responsibility is bigger time-saver that tons or reviews available on Youtube.
