Any clue what happened to this link on stygianabyss? It asks for user and pass and when i enter the info for here, it doesn't work. Also, why is it every single remake or new version UW ends up fizzling out. Is there really no hope of ever seeing a new one?

As far as EA is concerned, Shock 2 was their last 1st person RPG. As far as I know they've held to that. The last two Ultima products which have been in development were canceled. A developer went to EA with a game which they wanted to be Underworld 3. EA agreed, pending that developer's removal of all RPG and melee combat elements, rendering it essentially a fantasy shooter like Hexen. That developer said to hell with it, and thus we got Arx Fatalis. Arx 2 is on indefinite hold. That's about where things stand now.
