After finishing DX, I found some strange facts about Illuminati. It was founded as Ancient and Illuminated Seers of Bavaria (according to (
http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/NWO/Illuminati.htm)), which scares me to the bone. Most DX players played, or at least knew, UW1, and remembered that mages in UW1 were called Ancient Illuminated Seers of the Moonstone (written in 'Memoirs of Cabirus')! The relationship showed up more than 10 years ago! I wonder if Warren Spector is a Mason and/or Illuminati himself?

Sorry, forgot to say hi :D I was too eager to speak out my discovery. I don't know if someone else discovered and discussed this topic already. Hope my first post would not offend anyone.

There is nothing strange about this. Conspiracies like the Illuminati and the Knights of the Rose really exist resp. existed .. but things like that were founded hundreds of years ago - mostly in Europe, for America wasn't discovered yet. These were elite groups with some kind of aim, like finding the holy grail or discovering the philosophers stone (which they, for obvious reasons) never accomplished.

Spector may or may not be a Mason; it's more common than you think. ;) I doubt he's an Illuminatus, but I suppose anything's possible ...
... that said, the Illuminati, secret societies, and other conspiracy things have a big "way cool" factor, and Spector seems like a way cool guy. :) I think I remember reading that he had wanted to do Deus Ex a long time ago but computer technology just wasn't up to it at the time. Maybe he used elements from his original conception in his later games.
I'm not sure of my dates, so I could be just slinging sh*t.

I have to say I found this extremely strange also. Almost all the games Spector has been involved with had the Illuminati/Mason element. For example the Hammerites/Mechanists in Thief were obviously inspired by the masons, who call each other "brethren" and form a secluded secretive (almost cult-like) organization with covert political power. There's also an underground theme in most of these games, and I think that WS wrote a book on the "Hollow Earth."
I don't think it's a coincidence, either Spector is an Illuminatus or he is very seriously interested in this subject. Just look at his name for example: Warren Spector = War Inspector. The 33° and final degree of Scottish Rite Freemasonry is called Sovereign Grand Inspector General. Look it up... I know of another Spector who was a 33° mason; Arlen Spector. I wonder if he is related.

You're so stupid. It's exactely people like you being responsible for rumours about conspiracies and the like.
OMG, Warren Spector contains 13 letters! OMG, if you link letter to cipher a=1, b=2 aso, and add Warren Spector up, you come up with 175, whose crossfoot is 13! OMG, if you juggle the letters of Warren Spector around a bit, you can build raptor, or arse, or parrot, car, war! OMG, if you turn Warren around, it sounds like narrow!
Jesus goddamnit.

Jesus goddamnit. And you really believe the Illuminati was/is after the Holy Grail. What a naive loon.
