Well, I managed to get get enough EMS for UW to run via a configured boot disk (with some help), but I lack the necessary support from my creative SB live 5.1 sound card. Would using vdms sound help at all?
I have to initialise it for the boot disk, I know, but I am running the game on a FAT 32 partition so I need a driver/emulator for it on this drive. Can anyone suggest some good Ideas?
It has legacy support, but not dos (only a 98 folder), and this is installed on my NTFS partition, which runs w2k and all my windows stuff.
Plus the game is really jerky and basically hard to control, (can be played good enough though I guess). \
Any hints?

I'll just quote myself from another thread..

If you are using Windows XP, a special patch is required in order to even start UW.
If sound isn't working, some sound card tweaking may be required, or if you are on a NT OS (like XP..)
You can use VDMS, a sound card emulator that will allow you to play music, sounds and etc in old DOS games.
If you, on the other hand, are simply getting an error message, state what the error is and i'll help you further..

I can't use any files on my NTFS partition through DOS, so I can't initialise my SB live (which was installed through W2k). I need to somehow install it on my Fat 32 partition, or find a emulator or something. This is because upon boot-up, the file simply doesn't appear there through dos, so it can't find my creative/sb/.. folder.
I have to play UW on my FAT 32 partition so I need to install some drivers on this drive. Is it just as simple as un-installing, then re-installing it to here?
If I could get sound going , I could just change the lines in my autoexe file to load up when I boot-up using my disk.

Install the files to your fat32 partition.
