Alright, two questions for you UW heads out there. First, I got the code for the ring of humility then I went to the room with two turn knobs and two push knobs. How does the code work for this? And second, are there some potions with just no use? I picked up a lot of green potions that just do nothing.

First off, you will need to increase your Lore skill in order to recognise a lot of items in the game. All potions work, its just a matter of taking it at the right time. For instance, an recognized Antidote potion wouldn't do anything to you if you weren't poisoned.
As far as the Ring of Humility is concerned, the best way to work out the puzzle is to
Give your gemcutter to Derek (if you've got one)
I've actually played through both Underworld games countless times and have kept notes on most of the puzzles. If your really stuck, I'll post up an exact solution to the puzzle.

I had already done the spoiler, but I can't seem to find the combination even though I wrote down what he said, it just doesn't seem to work out. And I also knew about the poison remedy, but are there some that are just plain pointless?

You may have entered the center of the room if you are doing the combo right. This puts a delay into the process. Some people might mess things up at which time by changing the routine around.
As twisty said, all potions have a purpose. It just takes the Lore skill sometimes. I spent an entire game using a wand of name enchantment on every potion and magic item I found. I wrote it down and organized it in the bags to match up with the list I wrote. Then I reloaded and played as usual. Anal, huh?:cheeky:

Haha, that's great... or very very strange. Anywho, I've tried just about everything and I had gotten into the center room before I ever talked to Derek, any help? I could just get there with a flying potion I have, but I really don't want to use it.

Back then, I played it on a 486 which meant that load times weren't exactly very speedy. These days, however, on my current pc, load times seem to happen instantaneously, so its no big deal doing that trick.

The code Derek gave doesn't work there. The room you want is down a floor and has four up/down levers. (My mistake if I'm confused, and you already knew that.) That room with the two buttons and two levers works like this:
The two levers correspond to the X and Y planes. The buttons make the coordinate rise or fall.
Hey Michael, speaking of which, do we know how enchantments are encoded in Underworld yet?

Are we talking about the puzzle where (if I remember correct) there are four switches of some sort and a big hall (surrounded by water?) Using the switches you can rise or lower the ground, is this it? Haha, one time I created a really deep hole, jumped in and couldn't get out.
