Ah, the Stygian Abyss.. a hearty adventure for a lowly shepherd.

Am I wrong or do the bandits randomly respawn outside their hideout on the third level (where the puddles poison you)? It seems like every time I walk by a bandit attacks me. I can't think of anywhere else where that occurs. Try sleeping there and you'll see what I mean.
If you look at the map of most levels there's a central "pit", usually enclosed by walls that have a window in them. If you stand directly in front of one of the pit's outer walls in the first level and plant the silver sapling, you can get inside by reincarnating after you die. What I found shocking was that a lizardman dwells inside the pit. What wicked force trapped him there? He seems oblivious to his plight.

It looks like you've found a bit of an easter egg. Did the lizardman have much to say?
