Usual Thief 2 install problems

Hi Guys,

I am sure that this thread has been started many times before but I am really stuck and getting frustrated and not finding the right answer. I am not very technical and I seem to get a bit stuck trying to get Thief 2 to run.

OK, so I have the Sold Out version of the game on Vista. Installed and patched using the Premier Patch 1.18. Double click .exe file to launch and the game goes to a black screen - no menu, no start up movie, nothing.

Anyone know how to get me old game up and running?

Try a fresh install using (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106&p=1965795&viewfull=1#post1965795) Tafferpatcher.

Installed Tafferpatcher and all the updates, but still get a black screen that hangs when I double click the .exe

I think I posted at the same time! I installed Tafferpatch after I had patched to version 1.18, but it has so far made no difference which is confusing. :(
