I've downloaded the latest patch for A.F. and the instruction is to "extract all files to the Arx Fatalis installation directory." How do I do this? Please help.

Just to be sure: You're talking about the PC version of Arx, right?

The 1.17 patch (which AFAIK is the latest patch) is offered in a handy executable format at:

http://jowood.inode.at/arxfatalis/117/ArxFatalis_English_Patch_v117.EXE)
This executable figures out the dir automatically (at least, it did on my system).
Just download the file, run it and follow the instructions.

If for some reason you still really want to know the installation directory and just can't find it, just do a file search for a file named "arx.exe" on all you local hard drives.
The default choice of the installer is something like "C:\Program Files\JoWood\Arx Fatalis\"

Thanks. It is the PC version. I'll try running it from my desktop. I did find the exe file but wasn't aware that was the "install" file. I thought it was the run file.
