It's getting worse, now I am even resurrecting old threads...but at least it's the one I need. :)
I still want to use John's textures (especially for the story I'd like to have the Thief 1 Garrett). Str8g8's do work now, by the way, (Hurray)! but yesterday it came to my mind that afaik John's installer only patches the ibt files and that the game directory has no textures at all... :erg: So my last question about this issue must have looked rather brainless. Now I found this thread and I fear I am right, so, to make a short list:
1) Is it possible to get the textures from the available installers (I have 1.0.3 and even the old ones for single things like Kurshok, guard faces etc.) by installing them into an empty folder like mentioned above?
2) Again, what's the status of T3EnhancEd, is there any material available or will I have to PM New Horizon myself since he didn't reply in the newbie thread?
3) Would it be intelligent to do this Default.ini tweak no matter what happens next?
I hope I don't bother you too much. Have a nice weekend! :)
* Plus, in fact I'd really like to use his warehouse hook but all the smeshes are, as I told before, also without textures.

Pretty much dead. Lack of interest/support. I felt it added some much needed usability back into the game. Keys that require the player to actually select them from an inventory...doors that can be relocked, holy water arrows. Nobody seemed interested in using it for anything, so I dropped it. I might have the files somewhere. I'll look around.

That would be uttermost nice. :) And although it's getting offtopic for this one thing; do I recall correctly that the MP animation tweaks were also included? I tried it out again and found that MP makes those changes to the objectives that could turn out problematic for what I am planning, so it would be nice if I could just insert them via T3Ed.

I didn't include any of the objectives changes from Minimalist in T3EnhandED. My main goal there was to get things as close to the Thief 1/2 way of working as I could. It's an improvement in my eyes, but that's just me. :)
I'll see if I can find it.

If NH can't find it, I've still got a copy I can zip up and send you. I rather liked T3EnhancEd. ;)

If I find it, I hope to make a few final tweaks. I'll let you know in a day or two.

That is getting better and better. Thank you now and in advance also. :)

Thank you very much. Almost ironically, you spurned me on to try it myself and now I have copied over 500 files from the John-P-patched game into the editor folders. Plus, I made a 112MB rar file, just in case. Now that I see the whole lot of these pictures, I can better imagine the work that John Petter put into this. If you read this, thank you again for all this! :)
The only thing that still buggers me (although I've learned a lot by now) is the process of ibt creation/compression. I've read that T3Ed puts all necessary files together and the GL (?) tool compares it (like patchwise, i.e. the very file or just by filename?) with the installed/original game and pulls out what is already there and therewith not necessary. But what would be to do if I wanted to use the new and bigger textures, did not want the files to be too big, and maybe not require that John-P's textures are already installed (if the ibt compressor would use my own install of TDS as a reference)?
PS: Changed the default.ini but didn't delete/move the Texture files so I cannot be sure it worked properly...if there is any result but less memory usage at all.
PPS: New Horizon, any new state of affairs concerning the T3EnhancEd?

I think if you are using johnp's textures over the top of the original textures, then you will have a problem compressing an ibt. The compressor just takes the ibt file and removes all the textures that it knows are present on the target computer (ie the original textures) and then pulls them back in when it is "installed" from GL. It will assume your johnp textures are original textures, remove them and then put back in whatever the player has, which could be the original textures, or johnp's textures.
You don't have to compress an ibt file though. It just makes it easier for some people to download.
