OK, I know you have a website in your bookmarks that you find useful, but in the grand scheme of things is in fact, totally useless.
What is it?
For me it's (
http://www.beastieboysannotated.com/) Beastie Boys Annotated.
It has the lyrics for Beastie Boys songs with (surprise!) annotations explaining many of the references.
I know it serves no useful purpose, but I can't help wandering around for an hour or two every time I'm there.
Link me up, people, for I am stuck at work at a quarter to midnight and I need something to keep me awake.

I work in the print shop of a school district.
I can't leave until the work is done.
On the bright side, they're paying me darn well to be here, right now.

I have whiled away many an hour at Damn Interesting, for what it's worth, and if you're unfamiliar with the (
http://www.pbfcomics.com) Perry Bible Fellowship, dig in, there's easily an hour worth of laughs there.

(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Bono_Hats)
DeBono Hats, a method of group communication done by everyone putting on 6 different "hats" together, with each hat actually representing a different approach or perspective to a problem. It helps everyone stay on the same page in a group discussion.

Sorry, all my bookmarks are for porn!

I know a certain someone whose father has a certain set of hats in their boardroom to represent this, but I don't think anyone
actually wears them. I mean, you'd have to be a real moron to want to force people to wear brightly coloured top hats - unless you were also providing them with monacles and canes.

(
http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/) Information is not Knowledge - everything you ever wanted to know about the recordings of Frank Zappa:
-who did he play with?
-what do the lyrics mean?
-does the vinyl version of "Sleep Dirt" contain a different master than the CD??!
(surprise surprise,
it does!)
For a Zappa fan it's real easy to get lost there.
(
http://www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html) ISHKUR'S GUIDE TO ELECTRONIC MUSIC - oh lord the time I've wasted here. He updated the samples, they're all twice as long now. That's like at least six hours of music if you're into that stuff. And oh am I into it - you can tell your friends the difference between grindcore and speedcore - yeah there's a fuckin difference!
(
http://www.yellow5.com/pokey) pokey the penguin. hours and hours of fun, courtesy of the authors.
Oh, and fucking Facebook, but I only do it because all my friends do, otherwise I'd never keep in touch

I have spent countless hours reading through the very similar (
http://www.tomwaitslibrary.com/lyrics-by-album.html) Lyrics section at the Tom Waits library and I've been looking around for similar sites detailing the references and backstories behind lyrics of my other fave artists, with no luck. Until now, thanks Turtle. :D
