You can't be serious.
I am. Some of these bands do have talent. My tastes are pretty broad.
That said, I will never listen to Dashboard Confessional again. Especially not after I got the mental image of some semi-fat blonde kid with his hair short yet spiky in a cardigan sweater and those narrow tinted glasses writing out his life story on crumpled notepaper on the dashboard of an old 1982 Z28 he inherited from his dad, and then writes on a dirty Wendy's napkin, "Dear mom, sorry about never taking out the trash. And I was the one who ate the last piece of cake."
And then he pauses, thinks for a moment, then crosses out "last piece of".

Ok well getting back on topic, would something like a G3 be easier and/or less expensive to own? Seeing as its a full out rifle I imagine they're more lax about it (since the US seems mostly concerned with concealable weapons). I'd just like a nice big gun to go shooting with. =/
Good lord. Why don't you get something simple that's easy to look after if you must own one. Can't you guys get a fairly reliable mid calibre Springfield derivative from K-Mart over there for like $200? I don't know if they'd do semi autos but you wouldn't want much more than that. I mean the shooting's the thing right?

Let's brag about who's got a bigger gun! :D I've got an OICW under my bed.

Oh because that's just not cool! I guess it's hard to explain, having grown up playing shooters I do have a fascination for firearms, what can I say. I'm not a violent person but I do think firearms are really cool, and I do have "favorites" for whatever reason. I guess games have sort of transcended and glamorized the reality but for my purpose it's completely nonviolent. I'd just like to be able to shoot at non-living targets with said weapons that I've used in various videogames for so long now.

Many, many peaceful and non-violent people like myself think that firearms are really really COOL. It's hard to explain but I guess that's why we still kill each other afterall. Of course you'll be shooting only at non-living targets, who would think otherwise? That's a ridiculous note.

I love older (esp. WW2-era) guns. The amount of detail that went into them- easy to do since they were mostly wood- is an endless source of fascination for me.
I'm a big queer for wood stocks, which is probably why I like the AK so damn much.

I wouldn't mind a Thompson SMG or a M1 Garand myself.

I quite like the Lee Enfield, personally, but that's probably national bias.

Oh I get it, really I do. I'm saying that for convenience and enjoyment you might have to separate the two aspects; straightforward marksmanship for fun and caressing those sexy, complex and attention getting German lines might not sit as easily together as you'd hope.
Rent or start small is the way to go I'd think. But I don't really know.
