I mean, you don't really need lawyers to try to get states to not certify the results, just some politicians without a backbone and hardcore loyalists at the right places, which is probably the tactic Lord Dampnut is going for.

While I appreciate that this is the most sincere post you've ever made, what makes you think this? Almost every poll is showing a near dead heat.
Vae was sure Trump would win in 2020. You'll notice the "barring any shenanigans" which is just cover for claiming he "really" won just like he always does. (Even when Trump
did win in 2016, he
still claimed massive fraud - sans evidence, of course.)

If the US was a 'normal' country I'd predict a Harris landslide for no other reason than the fact that there are more women than men and no sane woman would vote for a rapist and no man who cares for a woman whether it's his mother, grandmother, partner, daughter, sister, niece or any other woman in his life would vote for a rapist either. You don't need to know the 100s or more vile, despicable and dangerous things Trump's said and done. That one thing is enough.

15 states have mobilized National Guard personnel for Election Day, officials say
From CNN’s Ray Sanchez
More than 250 National Guard personnel are providing Election Day support in 15 states, a spokesperson told CNN on Tuesday.
According to the spokesperson, personnel has been mobilized in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
A little less than half of the troops are assisting with cybersecurity missions, the spokesperson said in a statement. The rest are providing support based on local requests.
Additionally, the National Guard Bureau said about 85 members are on standby in Colorado; Washington, DC; Florida and Nevada. Over the weekend, ahead of potential civil unrest due to the presidential election, the National Guard said it was on standby as a precaution in several states, including Washington and Oregon, where hundreds of ballots were damaged or destroyed after officials said at least three ballot drop boxes were recently
set on fire.Well ain't that last part (set on fire) just great? I mean dammit are you effing kidding me?

Because you know people who are good at what they do like working for someone with a long history of not paying anyone.
He won't need to pay the bill. Payment will come from the super PACs of the biggest donors prepared to write a blank check like Musk, Mellon, Yass, Uihlein, et al. And given how much these guys have invested in this election, I suspect they will try to keep Trump and his inner circle away from these challenges out of fear that he'll screw it up.
EDIT: It's begun:

At the moment Harris 3, Trump 23.
Starts to look hairy there....
EDIT
Harris 27, Trump 90.
Harris 35, Trump 95.
Harris 52, Trump 101.

What, did you actually think states like Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Florida were going to vote for Harris?
Jason Moyer on 6/11/2024 at 01:29
Yeah, the states with no people in them will be counted faster and will go GOP. That's not a big surprise.

Florida seemed to count pretty fast for being a state with no people...

I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure they count absentee and early ballots in advance so all they have to count today is in-person votes. States that don't do that are going to take awhile. The other thing is that states with big gaps are easier to call. West Virginia was called with 0% of the votes counted, just based on exit polls. I would be surprised if we have an idea where MI/WI/PA are going before tomorrow at the earliest with how close and scrutinized those races are. New Jersey was called for Harris with 23% of the votes counted, for example. I dunno how pollsters did this time around, but 538 and Nate Silver both seem to think the race is going to be as close as their models predicted based on early returns. So we all need to chill for a bit.
