If they just get a few more tax cuts, maybe they will stop spending their billions on building luxury escape bunkers and buying social networks at exorbitant prices and spend some of it to benefit the ordinary people, somehow.

Desi Lydic makes fun of Project 2025 and its goals of making the US federal government more powerful and less accountable to the people:

Wait a minute, you're
for reducing the federal government's powers now? When I preached about this, you derided it as "muh smol gubmint."
So hard to keep up with these NPC software updates....

Which post are you quoting, RippedPhreak?
RippedPhreak on 15/8/2024 at 14:12
Expanded my quoted section in there. It's from the post right above mine.

Thank you. I saw that video early this morning so glossed over the post here and missed the 2nd half of the sentence. I'm lurgified today so that's my excuse.

Nobody who seeks the Presidency ever wants to have less power. Nor do their appointees, advisors, and coattail holders. Or their major donors. Project 2025 is all about changing the executive branch to give more power to the President. To me, it looks like a path to cronyism and corruption.
RippedPhreak on 15/8/2024 at 15:41
I'll have to look up what Project 2025 really says and see what I think about it. The front page has this:
Secure the border, finish building the wall, and deport illegal aliens
De-weaponize the Federal Government by increasing accountability and oversight of the FBI and DOJ
Unleash American energy production to reduce energy prices
Cut the growth of government spending to reduce inflation
Make federal bureaucrats more accountable to the democratically elected President and Congress
Improve education by moving control and funding of education from DC bureaucrats directly to parents and state and local governments
Ban biological males from competing in women's sports
I'm guessing many of you will have issues with the last item, but the rest sound like common sense stuff so far.

That list is just a bunch of vague, feel-good promises. Politician talk. When you dig into the details you find several themes: - concentrate government powers in the Executive Branch (you know, tRump for King). - moving the tax burden from the wealthy to the middle class (which would quickly reduce the size of the middle class and then where will the tax burden go? hmmmmm?) - eliminating the professionals and scientists presently providing strategic services to citizens and replace them with cronies. - privatise weather forecasting (hail to tRump's hurricane diverting Sharpie(tm). - give government a window/door into the bedrooms and examination rooms of citizens. - force impregnated rape victims (of any age) to carry their rapist's foetus to term. - throw infinite amounts of money at a border wall (I'd be more cool with this if it was along the 49th parallel).
And on and on...

We can talk about what Project 2025 will do after you agree that we are going to do it.Quote:
As Project 2025 hits turmoil, the head of the influential, far-right Heritage Foundation is postponing the release of his potentially fiery new book until after the November presidential election.
Kevin Roberts, who took over Project 2025 as part of a leadership shake-up amid blowback over its recommendations for a potential Donald Trump White House, said Wednesday he is focused on defeating presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Trump's running mate JD Vancepenned the forward to Roberts' book.
“There's a time for writing, reading, and book tours — and a time to put down the books and go fight like hell to take back our country,” said Roberts, the president of Heritage Action who has been mentioned as a potential chief of staff in a Trump White House, in a statement.
Sounds legit to me. Nothing to see folks. Move a long or get pepper sprayed.
Also by the same author. Note who wrote the foreword.
