I have to admit it's very hard for me to understand how people can be so angry and so directionless at the same time. Usually people are the most upset *at* something. It's not clear these guys are angry *at* anything that exists in the real world.
My experience is that they just feed off each other, so it becomes its own self-contained world of rage separate from political reality, except periodic (& predictable) headlines fitting into pre-made categories which keep fueling the engine to nowhere indefinitely. Really weird phenomenon since it's not actually "politics" in any traditional sense.

My explanation is simple (probably oversimplified). The tea party is based on a lot of very legitimate anger at the corruption and elitism of the political (and now financial) establishment, but that rage has been filtered through the sieve of partisan loyalty to produce something that just doesn't amount to anything worthwhile.
In other words, their loyalty to the Republican party prevents them from pointing fingers at quite a few people who deserve their rage. As a result, their rage becomes directionless and illogical.
There's also a pretty big disconnect between the "fox news" tea party and the events organized by actual grassroots organizers. The latter don't seem to get much coverage, especially on Fox News which would rather focus on its own astroturf protests.

Just wait til you get to the bit where Jefferson says it's totally okay to have a harem full of black ladies. Once you read that, you'll realize why they have to put a warning on the thing.
Ahhhh. The American Dream.

The part in the Bill of Rights where it's clearly written we have a right to private sex lives and, in clear unmistakable wording it says the government can't stop us from using condoms, having anal homosexual sex, fornicating before marriage, having abortions... I mean it's written right ... o wait ... :erm:

The people surrender nothing, and as they retain everything, they have no need of particular reservations.
