Oz-fare that's not so common back home? Aside from the prolific amount of steaks (surf 'n' turf) and fresh seafood (mmm...wokfried seafood), PUMPKIN.

Scotts: Welcome to Oshtraya, maaate!:thumb:
Gotta love that heat, eh? I'm 2 hours south of you in Lismore, and being originally a Shydney-ite, found the heat-humidity combo here somewhat challenging, but the evenings seem to get cooler quicker than Sydney.
I've kinda noticed a slight aussie tinge in your writings. now... you seemed to be 'buggered' in certain ways a lot - very aussie that! All you need now is the Bluey and you're 'fixed' as it were.
On the Spider front, apparently the funnel web is a Sydney-sider and not know around Brisbane. There are a few that look similar (the Mouse Spider, for one), but aren't it. Redbacks? those bastards are everywhere!. Been nearly bitten at least a 1/2 dozen times in my life - very lucky on that front. Spiders in general are far more plentiful in Lismore than I've noticed in Sydney - must be the wooden houses. I've handled both Golden Orbs (very carefully) and Huntsman (with total disregard for my safety) and have never been bitten. Orbs aren't that aggressive, but will bite/attack if provoked continually. And you will not enjoy the after affects either. Have handled many Huntsman, even had one drop from the ceiling on the back of my neck, still no bite...
Don't know much about snakes... :weird:
That niceness you've been experiencing? We're patronising you... most australians are taught how to do this at school, as payback for starting off life as a british penal colony! :laff: It's all reverse psychology, see? hehehe
Good luck with incorporation into the Aussie Borg Lifestyle - we will add your distinctiveness to our own... but first, you'll need some beer.

I pretty much lost my shit on 15 cm in diameter. That's tarantula sized and I just can't abide by that.

Jellyfish and spiders must die. THE LOT OF THEM.
