I have just recently updated the bios in my motherboard due to a new cpu upgrade, now when i try to boot up the computer it tells me there is a disc error and to restart. I suspect this is because i had originally setup the 2 drives in a Raid0 array for maximum speed, so i guess that the new bios does not know about the Raid array. How do i go about resetting the bios to read the raid0 discs and not loose all my data in the process
The Technical details
M/B Asus Striker II NSE
H/D Samsung 750gb x2 setup as Raid0
O/S Vista Ultimate 64bit

you need to press " ctrl-I " or " ctrl A " when booting to configure the array - but DO NOT create a new array, as you will loose your data. You add the drives to an exsisting array - which will retain your data.

No luck so far
Heres what i have done
I went into the bios and in the "onboard device configuration" i set the jmicron raid controller to raid
then in the " serial sata configuration" i set the raid enabled to enabled
then set sata 1 and 2 raid to enabled as well
Now when i boot up if i press f10 during the raid detection i see that i have a 1.36 tb drive setup and set to boot but the jmicron controller still says no any drives found
If i put the vista disc in and boot but ignore the boot from dvd option everything loads up fine but as soon as you take the disc out and boot up i get a boot disk failure

Have you check the boot order in the bios, its possible that the raid array isnt in the boot order and will need to be put back.

Fixed
I found that the boot order was fine but because i have an external drive attached via the usb it for some reason decided that this was the first drive to boot from and that it was a fixed disk not a removeable media, Changed the order of the drives so that the raid was first and bingo all came up fine
Now a new problem
I have just changed from an intel E8500 core 2 duo processor to an Intel Q9550 Quad core processor and enabled the 2 extra cores in the bios but now vista only see it as two E8550 cpu's and 2 unknown cores
I have installed the latest nforce drivers because the chipset is nvidia
Any ideas
