Stitch's taste in music is the dog's balls. Haters get out.

Hey I like iced earth. You need a healthy dose of fromage in your music every once in awhile to remind you of what the really good stuff is.
Why not just listen to Children of Bodom and get on with it then?

Maybe if they stopped looking like a stereotypical metal band (that shit went out of style years ago) that would help.
No, fuck you! But I agree on the name, it's pretty fucking terrible. And it's really a lot more important than people generally think. I've got so many friends who would genuinely like (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVqrO2bO4gg) Holocaust, but they always cringe a bit when I first mention it. Understandably.
It sounds good overall. But am I the only one who thinks the vocalist sometimes tries to hit notes just a bit higher than he can? Not a lot, but here and there.

I'm not a fan at all, but they do a pretty killer Brittany tune. ;)

Stitch likes The Mars Volta and The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, so that automatically invalidates his credibility in regards to judging music.
You forgot Wolfmother.
Also: I'm nowhere near the timezone of getting Fett's reply to me.

Listening to these songs again... honestly, they're boring and the vocalist just sucks. He keeps singing out of his range and comes off sounding like the guy from Nickelback trying to sing Queensryche. The lyrics are really bad, too.
This band would be awesome if I were 17.
Sulphur on 30/8/2009 at 18:37
Speaking of Queensryche, Operation Mindcrime was and still is blisteringly great. Every time I see Mindcrime II in the store, I keep wanting to pick it up, but some quietly critical part of my mind restrains me: it couldn't possibly be as good as the original, it whispers.
And it's probably right. I haven't heard any of OMII, but Queensryche's slide into mediocrity over the past 10 years has been pretty painful to watch hear.
To the OP: fonz, nice band, they've got some amount of chops. Can't hear your bro's contribution too well, myspace's music quality leaves a little something to be desired, and the mastering's a little flat and muddy. The band doesn't sound too different from the metric tons of other metal acts out there however; they come off as a tad generic from the recordings. They definitely need some sort of hook/differentiator to gain more notice. As fett said, though, I'm sure they'd sizzle live.

Hello again,
I've recently come into posession of a number of copies of the debut EP for my brothers band (he's Stu-the bassist) with the direction to "sell as many of these bitches as you can"; so I figured a good place online to start would be on here.
The band is called "Switchblade Scream" and play kind of melodic-power-metal. While the whole death/doom metal scene isnt really my style; I do like what they do in Switchblade; not that its because my brother is in the band and theres a sense of loyalty- but they are geniuenly good.
At the moment they're unsigned but recently played at the Bloodstock Open Air festival this month after winning the Glasgow leg of the Unsigned band competition. Its safe to say they were phenominal and they managed to pack out the tent that afternoon.
Anyway, just thought i'd give a mention; a few links below for them - check them out and if you like them gimme a shout and I'll fire off the official debut EP to you (£3 a pop); which has a few additional tracks on it.

Far from pimping this band; do any of you chaps and chappettes have relatives/friends bands we should checkout? Also curious to hear what you think of Switchblade.
I don't like power-metal at all (eg, haven't found a band yet that would excite me) so I can't comment too much. The songs I listened to sounded basic run-of-the-mill stuff. Not bad, but devoid of something that would make the band really interesting.
(now the real reason I posted :p)My cousin is in a few bands, but this is the most interesting: (
http://www.purity.org/), they've released a few records and the new one is coming soon. You can listen to Boxed 24/7 on the site. They're good.

"Boxed 24/7" is terrible but then I listened to "Nibs" and it made up for it. Interesting alt-metal thing they got going there.
