I'm all for people "stealing" assets (taking other people's assets that are licensed for free use) and using them to come up with a new concept.
Agreed. I do what I can on my own projects. Code, design, some 3D modelling and graphics. But there's plenty I'm either too bad at or just not interested in making, like soundeffects, music, textures, skyboxes. Thank God for free assets.

What I meant was more that, given the small number of items available in the marketplace (at least the last time I checked), if you only use assets from there, your game will probably look very similar to other indie UE4 games.
Better to pick and mix resources from many places, especially ones that have a huge variety (such as textures.com for example.)
Also, there's nothing free on the UE4 marketplace - it's for people to sell their assets, after all.

Oh yea that's what I do on all my games, but it still takes A LOT of time to find quality and matching assets and tweaking them in Photoshop / 3D software / Unity / etc. to get them into the game. Plus, if you want to anything outside of the Fantasy, Scifi or Horror genre, it's reeeally hard to find matching assets.
