Didn't they get annulled after they found out, though? Sure, it was an embarrassing accident, but crap happens sometimes.

I'm not sure "embarrassing accident" quite cuts it when you find out your wife and child's mother is actually your sister, not to mention the fallout when your presumably good relationship is destroyed in the most disturbing way possible

How can you be attracted to one of your siblings?

Is there any evidence that they had children?

Even if they didn't have kids, you could imagine they'd gotten jiggy quite a bit before and during the marriage though. Bad enough, I'd say.
And if not, it was a failed marriage anyway, no?!? ;)

In this case, the most important fallout is because of human stupidity. Seriously, is our DNA more important than our feelings? Why should their relationship be destroyed? In this case, I don't really consider them brother and sister. I'm aware of the higher health risks for a possible child, but if they choose not to have one, then I don't see any the problem. Anyway, there are plenty of couples where both persons know they are a carrier of a genetic disease, and yet still choose to be together and have children.
If the point of this discussion is to judge society and its absurd value, then I'll certainly find it a "good thing". But to be honest, I have a feeling the point is just about having "fun" accusing two people of some kind of perversion.

To a large extent I agree with you. In this day and age, a prohibition against incest seems an absurd infringement of the human right to consent to sexual relations with another adult.
But our society is full of weird and illogical sexual taboos and restrictions like that. I mean, it's okay to kill an animal, but try having sex with one, and you'll probably end up in the clink. Someone explain that one to me please :)
