Oh god I can't believe I've been missing out on this thread. I did a quick scan and learned that Cyberfish is fucking his sister and a couple of you are fucking chickens - confirm/deny.
Seriously DD and Scots - where do you buy your cage and range free eggs/chicken?
Scots Taffer on 4/2/2008 at 23:23
Generally any decent butcher worth their salt should offer free range (and usually organic too) chicken breasts, whole chickens and eggs.

Why breasts? The thighs and legs are the tasty meat. What's up with the breasts?

Indeed, breasts are just all fatty tissue anyway.

My answer was to what meat I generally find that's for sale as free range and organic, I have never seen leg or thigh meat for sale separately but if you cook a whole free range chicken then you can get at the juicy meat.
And personally, while I can definitely enjoy the thighs and legs, I get a lot of taste mileage out of a chicken breast. Most people overcook them to buggery.

I was just wondering why they would have breast but no thighs. I thought it might be some organic free range quirk - like they legs and thighs are used for something else or are no good or whatever. Like in some places in the Far East where you cannot get breast as it is considered much less tasty and so only put in things like nuggets, minces etc.
