Hello,
I hope someone remembers enough of this game to help me with this. I need some string to help that tailor ghoul make me dragonscale boots. I can't find seem to find any. I had one piece with me but I used it to make a fishing rod. Does anyone remember where I can find some? I don't exactly relish the idea of having to go over ALL the levels bit by bit looking in every corner.

I believe there are only 3 pieces of string in the game (at least, that's all I found), and they're all in the same place. Do you remember a lair on level 1 with lots of spiders? The string's at the end of that area.

More specifically, at the north end of level 1. Take the path across the bridge north of the abyss core, past the gray goblins, turn left and walk down the corridor, then turn left again and you'll be at the entrance to the Level 1 mines. The spider's thread is at the far end of the mines, which is around to the right and across a bridge over the Great River.
I've gotten to know UW pretty well, having remade the maps for UT :)
