Okay, many of you may now notice that all of the links on the forums are suddenly underlined... We are reducing the page overhead by removing unessential style tags from the headers. You can reverse this change in your browser's settings so that the underlines only appear when you hover over a link with your cursor.

Does that one tag hog a lot of bandwith?
Avalon on 15/11/2001 at 01:38
I dunno, I see a lot of these weird changes to TTLG to save bandwidth, like changing fonts and underlining things and so forth... but why not remove all those extra features few of us use or even notice? There are dozens of things that are totally unnecessary and I, personally, would get rid of those things first before making TTLG look like crap. <br />(But I don't understand any of the specifics of the situation, obviously. <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> )

Seriously though, these are not unique to TTLG and together they account for nearly double the posts of most of the other forums - even Thief Gen is only 60% of CommChat based on the post count, so they must be a heavy bandwidth hog. Yes, it may be a bit of a wrench for people to survive without such captivating topics as "cats and computers" or "Take the pop star suicide lyrics challenge!" but if it was a choice between that and the whole TTLG forum shutting down (taking the remotely useful forums with it)....

You don't lose weight by removing the heart, buddy.
At least it's not recommended.

What Stitch said. Dude, you have no fucking clue. Now run along.

You realize that if you close CommChat, 60% of ThiefGen would just leave.

Hmm, and here I thought these forums were supposed to be for topics related to the games the site covers. Guess I'm one of the few people who doesn't have so much time to waste to have to wade through pages of useless posts (that real life thing again <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> , maybe I should just quit and become a GenChat bum to see what life is really about <img src="tongue.gif" border="0"> )
I really don't have anything against Gen Chat, and I know not
all the posts there are useless, but it amazes me the time people spend wading through things that have nothing to do with anything. Would rather be playing a game in that precious free time <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
