Unable to select items in inventory

So I installed the game, used the XP patch to play it, and I'm unable to select items in my inventory. When I try to, I just use the currently equipped weapon.

I'm running the game with Vista, so maybe that's the problem? :erg:

This is a common bug. Read the stickies.
