I bought Morrowind + an xbox console a couple of months ago and I`ve played it regularly but not to frequently since. Previously, I`ve experienced problems when I saved my games - the xbox freezed and I had a dirty disk message. Reading other players experiences I know I`m not alone in that sense.
However, for the last couple of days I have had another problem: I`m completely UNABLE to save. During gaming, I can press start and choose the save menu, and I can also either choose "new game file" or overwrite an old gamefile - that`s no problem. Also, the saving seems to work fine but however, afterwards I`m unable to locate the game I just saved. It`s not in the "load" game or "save" game files.
Does anyone recognise this kind of problem and/or do you have a solution?
I would be grateful for help, because this is driving me mad...

Hi,
I'm using X-Box too, and i had the same problems. pls check the following things:
1- Check your savegames. If you have more then 30 savegames, this can cause your problem, I allways used "new save" without deleting previous savegames, so after a time i had more then 200 savegames (!). the easyest way to delete them is not using the "save" menu in Morrowind itself (where you can dlete games with "X"), but using the memory manager (start XboX without CD, you can now go to your harddisk, and delete the oldest saves (Don't delete you last one, of course).
2- If you save a game on xbox(new save), the game is automaticly given the format:
#charactername# day #day of month# #time#
BUT, if you overwrite a saved game, the save keeps the original name (unless you change it) so if you have a save of day 28, and day 29 you overwrite this game, and you don't change the name, the savegame name will still state day 28.
Hope it was any help,
Tar.

Thanks a lot Tar for your suggestions :D :D :D . It really helped. I noticed that when I deleted my savegames with the Morrowind game menu - they de facto did not really vanish. Instead they appeared as small empty shells in the xbox memory unit. Although they were small, they were numerous, which maybe disrupted some of the functions of the game. Therefore - as Tar also suggested - remember to "clean" your memory unit frequently, there might be a lot of rubbish...
