Unable to play Thief Platinum Collection, help please

Hi,
I have Thief Platinum Collection that I would love to play on my windows 7. It has thief 1 and thief 2, and when I try to install it, I get main menu asking if you want to install, or directx, etc, when I click on Install nothing happens. I can't even hear the cd running. I've tried using the setup.exe file from the folder and still nothing.

I've tried following the Thief 2 Fix Guide I found online but I'm not sure I did it correctly. I don't even know if it's possible to even play this collection.

try running the setup.exe in win9x compatibility mode.

alternatively, you could just copy over the Thief(1) folder (assuming it's directly on the dvd and not encrypted as part of the setup.exe) and apply (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733) TFix, or use (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106) TafferPatcher (for T2) that should be able to do a manual install.
