unable to find any occurrences of ddraw.dll in shock2.exe

Hi all, After buying dragon age and being very disapointed I decided to play some of my old games. I am trying to apply the direct draw and wide screen patch to system shock 2 but get the error in the subject line when i try to install the fix. Both fixes worked great for thief 2 but neither seem to work with system shock 2. I have the game installed and patched to 2.3 I can launch it and it seems to run ok. I havent gone much past getting off the train though.
I have done some searching but did not find the answer to this problem yet.

any help would be appricated.

edited for system specs: core 2 cpu, one disabled with vista 32 bit.

Use (http://www.strangebedfellows.de/index.php?topic=392.0) this on a clean install of SS2.

You're very welcome. I also recommend you use the (http://www.strangebedfellows.de/index.php?topic=527.0) SS2 Mod Manager when installing mods; it makes the whole process much simpler. Enjoy the game! :)
