I wouldn't get it at the very least until they've got the tiny GUI & text problem worked out, since that almost nullifies the whole thing since you keep having to take it off to read text... Granted for this game it might be less of a problem since UI matters seem to be handled on screens in-game itself. But for any other game it'd be too early to get it.

Ah, that's why the motion looks extra squirrelly, right? It's taken from an oculus?
This comment made me take a serious look at the Oculus Rift myself, having ignored it until now. It looks like it won't necessarily interfere with my hearing aid (by which I mean physically -- my aid tucks behind the ear. Makes noise-cancelling headphones completely useless to me.) Now I'm strongly considering getting one.

I'm hearing a lot of Alien in that sound design. Can't wait to see more.

I don't think that whatever happened on that base was pleasant, given the look on the little robot's "face" when you see it while leaving the tram. I also like the retro interface on the computers.

Wow.
Everyone wants in on it, eh? BioShock, Dead Space and now this? From the small amount I've seen (and I missed this at Rezzed on the weekend, how?) I'd go with the SS3 tag, yeah.
Well, they seem to be getting the idea a little better. I just hope they remember that they conceived of this idea to fill in the survival horror void, and not to make another Dead Space.

Looks like Doom 3 tech with those screens? Interesting anyway!
This logo is on their frontpage.

And only 3 people in the development team ??? Wow.

uh
Dead Space (the first one anyway)
is survival horror. Might wanna rephrase that a bit.

The perma-death thing does seem to imply that's one and done, but if you think about it that would essentially require that it be impossible to save your game, otherwise you could duplicate a save and thus have a backup ready in case you die.
Either way it sure does the atmosphere damned well. I love how quiet it is, but there's enough ambient noise to hint at things going on in the distance. I'm also a big fan of the technology, it's very conservative as far as sci-fi goes, reminds me of something like Aliens. I just hope it doesn't fall into the space zombies cliche because that's already well played out.

It had its moments, but any horror I did feel was negated by the fact that I had guns that fired HE mines and buzzsaws and my ability to freeze enemies in place while I slapped and stomped them to death. I feel that this game appears to more adequately represent the genre since you never see anything to suggest that something terrible happened, yet are filled with the dread that something DID happen. That, and your only option in most cases appears to be to run away and hide when you so much as hear something because you are fully aware that any confrontation will end badly.

That's quite a bit of assumption regarding a game that hasn't come out yet.

Do I seriously have to drag out the "what makes a game survival horror" guide
again?
