My understanding of permadeath is "it's game over when you die". Maybe they're making it hard to die.

Or maybe they mean it. It kinda precludes much meaningful progression if they mean it, though.

Looks like the game lets you defend yourself. That was my #1 big worry when they first showed this off, that it'd be just another "useless, defenseless crybaby" game like Frictional makes. I'm glad to see this is not the case.
I'm wit it.

Headbob was annoying and I'm hoping the guy demoing it was being all jittery on purpose. Other than that looks real sweet. Except for the "perma-death" idea, of course, if it really means a basic game-over then it can drop in a ditch.
Also, I saw a logo for Oculus VR on the closing screen - new substitute for jalapeños as laxative?

I like the feel of it...and Oculus VR support is most welcome.

Is anyone on here likely to get an oculus? If so, would be interested to hear what they think as and when opinions become valid.
Vae on 25/6/2013 at 19:19
I'll give a review of my experience when the time comes.
Vivian on 25/6/2013 at 19:23
Ah, that's why the motion looks extra squirrelly, right? It's taken from an oculus?
demagogue on 25/6/2013 at 20:23
Wow. I hope it keeps up that cool atmosphere for the whole game.

RE: Occulus Rift.
The wisest decision would be waiting for the consumer version with all the kinks worked out (IIRC, currently slated for Q4 2014). Unless you're a game developer, being an early adopter and getting a dev version would be supremely retarded.
