I don't know why you're trying to argue with me about this.
Because you're being dumb. Stop being dumb. The entire point of genre labels is to provide a convenient shared vocabulary so people can talk about games without having to throw design documents at each other. You going full special snowflake with your monocle and "for
me it shall be
exploration horror" serves as nothing but an impediment to communication.
So yes, you're free to call this game exploration horror, and I'm just as free to call you a twit for doing so.

As much as "exploration horror" doesn't make a lot of sense, first-person exploration games really can be seen as a sub-genre with (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140901) specific features.
There's a lot in common between Miasmata, System Shock 1, Metroid Prime, Azrael's Tear, Realms of the Haunting... and this.
Routine seems to make it to that sub-genre, it's definitely not a straight-up Amnesia clone in space.
It's also worth noting that the official website says "Routine is a first person horror exploration game set on an abandoned Moon base."
So uh, what exactly are we debating?

Why it's only going to be three hours long.

Maybe Valve will hire all the developers and put them to work on Portal 3: SPAAAACE.
