It may just be my browser, or not, but boolean search seems to have disappeared from advanced search...
Shit. No more advanced searches with operands.
Just tried shalebridge -cradle. Got cradle related topics anyway. Sigh.
Hmm, now I just tried shalebridge by itself, and that gave me no cradle related topics. Wonder if they revamped the search function...

While I don't know where boolean search has gone, I just realized that the common search now automatically searches for ALL words you enter instead of ANY, which gets a thumbs up from me.

I think that is a good thing also, but not being able to exclude words you don't want could be a problem...
The search function does seem to have gotten a little more precise though...

Boolean seems to be working OK but doesn't show boolean at the bottom anymore that I can see. I'm hoping that this means that boolean is the ONLY search. Unless they simply removed the link by mistake or deliberately but my cookie gets it automatically anyway if it's still there. Have you cleared out your cookies? Maybe I'd better find mine and back it up just in case.

"Calendra's Legacy" and got just that.
Calendra's -Legacy and got mostly Calendra's Cistern or just Calendra.
Legacy AND Calendra got both

Yeah, cookies went, along with everything else. Had to reformat and re-install on the computer I can get online with...
Oh well, as long as the search function is more precise I guess it doesn't really matter...

Dammit...I just searched for the Calendra's Legacy threads not 2 days ago when I realized I never finished that one, and I had noticed several searches ago that some of the options were missing (Boolean, etc.) and had to wade through bazillions of Calendra's Cistern threads, among others.
I am glad this was posted here, as I had given up all hope that this Board would ever take up with the 21st century way of searching for stuff. I love the "quotes" function as I can usually remember some unique combination of words in a post, but can never seem to find it. Thanks, Fidcal, and kamyk of course for posting.
