Umm... question about a Japanese film

Probably over a year ago, I remember seeing a trailer for this Japanese film.. It was live action, had a shit load of action / cg stuff in it... Took place in a futuristic setting. I remember the art style somewhat reminded me of the Matrix. Only problem is that I can't remember what it was called. I remember that Penny Arcade was talking about it as well, at the time the trailer was released.

So... can anyone help me out? My memory is rather poor

I think you are thinking of the Returner, I saw previews for that too on TV. My brother watched it and said it was decent, I cant say though since I didnt see it.
