Umm. I'm either an idiot or... How do i recharge magical items!

I can't seem to find anybody who can recharge my magical items. Quite annoying >=(

Those people are rare, perhaps it is a bug. I was in Chorral and talked to a Mage Guild member who introduced himself as the local enchanter and magic recharger dude, but there was no option to actually do it! Maybe you have to be a higher level. I found a Mage's Guild member in Bruma that would do it though, no problem.

But it's easier just to use one of the many soul gems you may have found by now. Just select it in your inventory, then use it on the enchanted weapon of your choice.

I only foudn two so far, one has Lesser soul in it and one has none. Didnt know you could do that with them. (Didnt RTFM)

There's lots of people in every Mages Guild who will do it. Apparently though, you have to ask them at the right time. I've noticed the Recharge icon comes and goes (and the buy and sell icons too). I discovered this by clicking on a Guild member, seeing the icon, and, deciding to raise my reputation with her, close the dialog and save my game. Then I clicked on her again and suddenly no buy/sell/recharge/train icons! Wait a few minutes then click on her again and they're back.

Perhaps you have to try it during normal business hours? I seem to have more luck with that, but even then sometimes the icon does not appear.

Varla Stones will also recharge them but they're quite rare and disappear after each use. I only have two now and I'm saving them for when I really need them.

And of course soulgems containing a soul will do it. I haven't actually captured any souls yet so don't know how well that works, how many gems it takes to completely recharge and item, etc.

In the Chorral mages guild hall around 10am theres an older looking dude who doesnt wear a robe. He recharged. Expensive as hell though. Costs 1 gold for every point you wan tto recharge. I went into the editor and changed the multiplier for recharge from 1.0 to 0.1. More affordable.

I'm kind of annoyed with how they did recharging in this game. In Morrowind the items recharged by themselves over time, so using an enchanted weapon was much more feasible.

In this game, I can use all the charges in my weapon in a single fight(of multiple mobs). So I end up carrying two weapons, one enchanted and one not. I bust out the enchanted one and go super sayen if need be.
