Hi,
I decided to give UW another go recently and everything was running fine. I'm still on the first level of the abyss but the last time I loaded my savegame up I got a message which said 'error in object list'. Is this the 'inventory bug' that the patch was supposed to fix? I'd read in various FAQs that this bug was only supposed to hit around the 7th or 8th level of the abyss and that it only happened if you had too many items in one container (and considering I'm on the first level that could hardly be the problem).
Anyways, should I restart my game over again or is this a non-lethal error? I don't like the sound of it though.

Playing with that bug is a gamble. You could be fine, but on the other hand, the game could choose to delete a mission critical object, like a talisman. It's up to you.

This is frustrating. I restarted the game with a new character but I got the 'problems in object list' message AGAIN.
So if anyone knows the reason why this error appears or how to avoid it please let me know.

hmm i get that error all the time ive reinstalled uw1 several times but it still comes up
"Underworld Internal Error"
"Problems in object list"
is there a patch i can download to fix this problem cause this has really become a problem my map disapered

Your using an old version of Underworld. Try to get your hands on the final build as that problem shouldn't appear. At least, I've been replaying it year after year without any problem. If your really stuck, you could try the patch, but keep in mind that this patch will corrupt a final build version, so only use it on an old underworld build.

i downloaded a patch and i still get that same error also guys i need some help with the ring of humilty i use this code NW,SE,NE,SW and it doesnt work i got that code from the guy you give the gem cutter to and also i have the mysteries of the abyss clue book it says that same code i try it out and i dont even go near the center and it still doesnt reveal the ring does anyone have any suggestion

I had some trouble with this as well. I finally got it to work, and I think it's because the NW switch had already been switched when I entered the room. If I remember correctly, the switches have to be put in the up position in that order. If the NW switch starts in the up position, just skip it.
Dunnno if that's what's wrong in your case, but it worked for me. Good luck!

I found it is best to be standing on the pedestle, and trigger the switches by magic, unlike the hint you get (where he says stay OFF it). May be worth trying.
