I realise this forum isn't exactly for discussion about Ultima...but it's the closest thing, and people seem to use it for that anyway.
Anyway, on to my question...
Does anyone know where good, hi-res Ultima box art .jpgs may be obtained? I would prefer them without the titles, etc., though smaller lettering somewhere in the pic would be acceptable. I'm particularly interested in the U6 box art (pic of holy-looking Avatar, with foot on Gargoyle).

Well, I have a number of such Ultima scans (box and art form). Unfortunately, the many sites I'd gotten them from over the last couple years have since gone belly up (I really need to recheck all those bookmarks) <IMG SRC="shake.gif" border="0"> .
I can send the particular one you're after to you, but you'll need to email me your address since I can't access it through your profile. If you want to go to (
http://www.netassoc.net/ultima/) Jocksitter Dragon's Ultima Collection Page for some others, I think you'll find some I also have.

Well, I checked that site out, and while it does have the box scans, with titles (I would prefer without, but with is acceptable), none of them really look like they would work as a desktop background, which is what I have planned for these pics.
I'll give them a try anyway, and I've also sent my email address to you.
Thanks.

This one's pretty decent: (

I haven't checked the rest out, but Mobygames will certainly have cover scans of all the Ultimas, so hopefully there are good quality images for the others as well.

(
http://www.io.com/~dloubet/) Here is the homepage of the senior artist from Origin, Denis Loubet.
While this site doesn't have the exact cover art you're looking for, he does have Aklabeth, Ultima 1, Ultima 8, Ultima Underworld 2, and Shadowcaster. You can also get an alternate rendering of the Serpent Isle intro there. He actually did do the Ultima 6 cover art, and pretty much any other Ultima, so maybe if you e-mailed him he'd be able to send it?
