Yeah, this was all over the papers here, too. You know, I'd love to visit these countries, I really would - but it's shit like this that make me put those plans aside. It's so unreasonable and bewildering. It feels so random that I won't take the risk. My loss, maybe, but goddamn that's just batshit insane, and I don't care what their religion is or what their holy books say, get a fucking clue and put things in perspective. 0.003 g. Fucking hell.
Next thing you'll get a four year sentence for stepping on someone else's spit. I'm sorry, but this just makes me so fucking mad.

An acquaintance is currently living in Qatar training the Sultan's horses. One of her daughter's has been living in Dubai for several years. They're both fine and haven't been arrested for anything.

On the other hand, my bloke was arrested by Special Branch at Bristol Airport for travelling from Frankfurt on a temporary German passport (apparently not even Germans can get these), carrying my passport and an invalid English driving license when he could only say ja, nein and sprechen zie deutsch.
But then he was also arrested and thrown into jail for 24 hours in Trieste for parking in the wrong place.
Life can definitely be tricky sometimes.

At that time, can't remember which year it was now, apparently they didn't exist. Have no idea if that's true, was only what Special Branch said. Needless to say they didn't let him keep it as a souvenir, they wanted it themselves to frame and hang on SB head office wall. :)
