Just wondered if I could use the program for U7 & win98 to run Pagan as well. Or can I use the method described to make System Shock 1 run under win98?

You can't.
The program to run Utlima7 (both parts) is ONLY for U7.
However, I can run U8 without any problem on my new machine (with music ans sound). So I don't know why you would need a special program.
I don't know about the SS1 trick. I replayed it a few months ago in pure DOS mode (which is not a big deal). It worked perfectly and I even finished it.

OK, I retried U8 and it's true that I can't run it from Windows98. But it works perfectly if I boot in pure DOS mode, so it's not a problem.
