Soul Trapping:
I can't seem to hit the broad side of a creature with the trap spell. Is there an attribute that needs to be enhanced before I can accurately hit the target ? Also, after buying the soul trap spell, does it stay in the inventory after trapping a soul or do you continue to buy it for each soul trapped ?
Disease:
I got blight disease once and I cured it at a shrine and now I seem to be immune from this disease. Is this true of the common disease's as well ? That is, after I cure myself once from a disease is it no longer a threat to my character ?

Soul trapping:
I've read on here that it doesn't work against humans. Btw, your post didn't mention having a soul gem to hold the captured soul; did you have one in your inv?
Disease:
Not sure re: disease cured via a shrine, but I know that casting cure common/blight disease to cure one episode of disease doesn't innoculate you against another dose of it.

soul trapping is only as useful as the gem you try to put it in. any creature bigger than a antronach and maybe even dramora have will only fit in the greater or grand soul gems. And you can't trap the souls of humans. I don't know why. My biggest problems is actually getting items to hold the enchantments i place on them.
I've fought hundreds of blighted creature especially racers and i've never got blight disease. Several NPC talk about it is very hard to get but very hard to get rid of. I don't think your character is annoculated.

I have a grand soul gem in my inventory. I was trying to trap a humanoid creature thou, it was of the lizard creature race (Argonian I beleive). The message at the bottem of the screen is confusing because it says that I missed the target.
I not sure about blight disease, the first blight disease bird I ran into gave it to me. I was also attack by two other creatures that gave me diseases unlisted in the book -- I'm assuming they were common diseases. I seem to get a disease if I'm bitten or if I click on a diseased creature.

I'm now having a problem with armor. My character is best suited for heavy armor. I had steel and upgraded to Dreugh armor, because it was listed as heavy armor, but it has now changed to medium armor on the screen. This really sucks since I lost almost 20 protection points on my guy.

Two answers:
soul trapping:
I think some of the spells have a limited range. So try casting soul trap when the creature gets closer to you. If you are using a soul trap scroll then yes, it will get used up every time you cast it. Of course, you can carry multiple copies of a scroll. If you are casting a spell that you purchased from a spell vendor, then you can cast it as many times as you want (granted you have a high enough skill and enough mana).
Disease:
Every time you come in contact with an infected creature, there is a chance that you will become infected. But it doesn't happen every time. So I seriously doubt you are immune, you've probably just been lucky. There is one exception, which is a SPOILER:
If you've caught Corprus disease and been healed, then you become immune to all diseases.
Soul trapping: Just kill the creature, then cast soul trap on the corpse. As many times as you like, it's bugged and you get unlimited souls on one body. And yes, low lvl soul trap is On Touch, so stand near the corpse.
I just love when you've wasted your grand gems on dagoth's or whatever, and then a saint drops dead.

Awww... thats no good,
Why don't you just tell him to play the original D-Fall and get the cheapest open spell he can find?

If you sucks at Mysticsm, and don't want to keep buying Soul Trap scrolls, and is planning to do a lot of soul trapping, enchant a ring or amulet with soul trapping. Better yet, enchant a weapon that cast soul trap on strike. I trapped a dozen soul in a day with my Soul Eater silver longsword.

Where does one buy grand soul gems?
Bleda on 5/6/2002 at 04:49
The reason you are not trapping a soul is because your trying to trap a character's soul. Only CREATURES can be trapped by gems, so if it has a real name then you probably can't trap them.
