two more underworld questions... - by christian_suburbanite

Okay, I've got 2/3 ingredients for making the rotworm stew: The dead rotworm, the green mushroom, but what exactly is a "port" and where would I find one?
Also, does magic ever become a necessity? 'Cause I've been ignoring it so far (I just defeated Roderick on the 4th floor).
Thanks.

Port is a type of wine, and in UW it comes in brown bottles.
You can finish the game without magic.

Okay, this one's kind of scaring me. Rescently, every time I go up or down a particular set of floor-linking staircases (those found in the knight's place), I get an error message stating "underworld internal error problems in object list".
Should I be worried?

Does the game crash when you get those messages? Make sure all the files in your UW directory dont have the read-only attribute set.

If you haven't got the final version, then you should apply the patch. However, if you do have the final version, then dont apply the patch, as it will corrupt your inventory, amongst other things.

Nope, doesn't crash.. I own both Underworld games through the Interplay RPG collection (the one that also has Wasteland, World of Xeen).. so I'm assuming it's the newer version. I thought it was that inventory bug I always hear about rearing its ugly head, but I guess I'm fine if it continues to be harmless.
