The key thing to pick up on is whether the person owing you funds is from Nigeria.
Just paid in the cheque

Meh. Dry heat is the
best heat.
But GBM the guy is Scottish dude. 30 degree dry heat is like Gods own death ray to them.
Enjoy it Scots, sounds like you need it.
Bullllllshit it's the best heat. I love the humidity and for the record, I love the heat. These days are the best days.

That's the thing. There are no auditors or anything like that. We're a very small company, but there's enough red tape bullshit to run an Eastern Bloc country. Somehow we've managed to get more people on our board of directors than we have actual employees. They just loves them some paperwork.
Then that just leaves the drinking problem. What are you gonna about that, huh? HUH?

fonz, I hear that there is quite the local demand (at least in the US) for local tech workers now because the offshore business is really proving to be a lousy bet... and all the folks laid off because of it took different careers.
In the company I work for, I have had to rewrite several offshore projects which proved to be 100% wastes of money... and we've barely tried any offshore! However, at my last job, we got good work out of some folks from Argentina.

Ugh terrible week. My toddler discovered a constant whine that penetrates my brain like acid tipped needles. I need thousands of Rands of dental work because I've been grinding them like crazy (again, toddler) and I got our home loan statement that shows that even though we've been paying off our house for 4 years, we've actually only paid 1 months value to the house, the rest is all interest. :(

Man, that sucks. Interest rates here are 0.5%, so I've been enjoying seeing 85% of my monthly mortgage payments coming off the capital.

Right, I forget that sometimes. I'll attend if there is some sort of Angland TTLG meetup during my stay.

Seriously, the only way to make these people see how dumb they are being sometimes is to ask "Soo.... computer says no?". They seem to get it then.
That's part of the problem - a lot of them DON'T USE COMPUTERS. No e-mails if a class is cancelled, no central intranet/website full of useful information like where to recieve packages or WHERE YOUR CLASSES ARE.
I'm definitely starting to get used to it, I'm just amazed that these people are being PAID to be this incompetent. I have no training in administrative management and am highly confident I could institute a much more efficient infrastructure.

Actual suggestion: pick up a mouldable rugby mouthguard from the chemist!
