Shitty week. Got progressively sick. And I had to cancel a weekend motorcycle trip because of weather and a sudden battery failure. I didn't go out tonight, wanted to recover a bit and play The Nameless Mod, which I just started. But I came home to find the OS drive on my desktop went tits up today, so I can't even do that.
But... this thread inspired me to go buy a bottle of scotch. So it's not all bad. Now I just gotta decide whether I'm in the mood for Laphroig or Talisker.

voting talisker
My week was pretty good but I'm having a horribly girly fruity rum drink anyways!
(edit: that would be pineapple coconut mango peach, thank you very much)

I ended up going for something new:

http://www.redmc.net/useless/balvenie.jpgBalvenie Doublewood. Aged in two casks: A whisky cask and a sherry cask. Smooth with a slight honey taste. Good, but I probably should have stuck with the Talisker.

Sounds like he's setting you up to take the fall if the auditors come sniffing around. I'd get a different job, soon. And start drinking again.
That's the thing. There are no auditors or anything like that. We're a very small company, but there's enough red tape bullshit to run an Eastern Bloc country. Somehow we've managed to get more people on our board of directors than we have actual employees. They just loves them some paperwork.

Two words to strike fear into the hearts of anyone that works in the private industry:
Off.
Shoring.
Those words combined pretty much made my week hell. For example, alot of the boring process stuff goes out to India. So for example. One of the projects I work on came up to the time where we were invoicing the client so naturally we ask the team over there to produce an expense report for that project. Simple enough eh? WRONG.
Each project has its own codeword; so they send us the wrong one and include client names, deal details etc in it - which first of all aside from being not what we asked for is a huge compliance risk. Second when we finally got the correct code with the details we found a ton of expenses on it that nobody could recognise. So I was asked by one of the Directors to wade through about 1000 lines of code to sort out whose were the correct ones, get the receipts together (the client is very prickly about backups) and essentially spend two precious days at the start of the week where I devoted my full attention to this.
It finally emerged that what they had sent us was basically bullshit and the previous invoice that had been sent (note while i was on holiday) was totally wrong so now we have to grovel to the client that the previous invoice should be ignored and send them a new revised one).
Safe to say some harsh talking will be made next week by the Accounts team and I can merrily go back to doing what I usually do.
Thats just one example, there are far worse ones I cant talk about on here...
Weekend is picking up though - I have a date tonight...hello stress relief :thumb::thumb:
Note: Any Balvenie is a win. Although my JWBlue was like the God's ambrosia (Both glasses) last night.
