I think you're forgetting about seven episodes there.
10 instead of 13, not 3 instead of 10
Previous seasons respectively had 13, 12, 12, and 13 episodes each.

Beetleborgs, too? I remember watching a little of that. There was another show I thought of while writing this called (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mystic_Knights) The Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nóg which also seemed like it could have Japanese roots, but turns out it didn't.
Saban were the group responsible for pretty much all of these. Power Rangers (up until around the 10th season "Wild Force" - Disney owns the property now), Masked Rider, VR Troopers, Beetleborgs, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog... all of those were made by Saban. Mystic Knights is the only one on that list that wasn't adapted from a Japanese show, but it explains why it still has that feel to it. Also, I haven't really seen Mystic Knights yet, but I dare say Saban probably reused a lot of the monster suits and such from their other shows.

One of my friends in lawschool used to be a writer for a Power Rangers clone show; can't remember the name though. He had pretty funny stories about how they'd write it, how the show "evolved", and the corporate politics that got involved.
Another great tv show cut too early: The Tick Live Action Series.

Someone actually wrote the Power Rangers?
Now Robotech... THAT was a well written show.

OH OH OH - The Lone Gunmen!!! It got axed before a full season iirc. Everyone was so sick of the X-Files at that point that there was very little interest, and it suffered Fox's typical musical chairs schedule asshattery, but the writing was spot on.
Dude, that's totally what I was going to post. It was an awesome show, that followed the same vein as X-Files' awesome "quirky" episodes without the dull boring crap of their plotline episodes.
I remember trying to watch it and every week it was on a new day, so I caught maybe 4 episodes of the 12 made before it was canceled. A perfect example of how a good show can fall behind entirely because of a network's asinine scheduling.

More than likely. I think I remember reading somewhere that shows like Power Rangers and Beetleborgs shared a lot of props and costumes, so I wouldn't be surprised.
