(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdL2jiM601U) Wonder Showzen. A kind of subversive parody of Sesame Street. The most brilliant thing they did on this show was do an entire episode called "Horse Apples" which was just a really poor Hee-Haw filled with racist, self-deprecating humor. In the next episode, they secretly filmed a focus group watching it and saying things like "It's good old fashioned American humor, I like it" and desperately trying to tell the survey people what they think they want to hear.

Another vote for Moonlight. I LOVED that show, have them all to watch when ever I feel like it. Another Vampire show The Kindred, mid 90's show that spun from the Vampire Masquerade.

So you're saying that if it's not very popular then it's not very good?
What I'm saying is that the shows are a commercial venture. Good is a relative term. Many consider the THIEF games "good" but on a comparative scale they are not big sellers because the buying public did not think so.
Same with TV shows. If few watch they disappear. Why? Because producers, advertisers and other investors want a return for thier money. No viewers, or few viewers, no money. Result: cancelled shows.
I thought Boston Legal to be a fun, well-acted entertaining show. But the bulk of the money people and the viewers did not. So goes it.
Let me qualify that further. Popular means a large segment of the viewing public, so I guess I really am saying lack of popularity equals no show.
A limited appreciation for anything will cause it to fall by the wayside. Whether it be a movie, TV show or other product. That's life people. How many of you read ancient Greek or Latin? Not taught in the schools as it was in the late 1800's and early 1900's. They are no longer popular. Ergo, they have vanished from your basic High School education.
By the way, popular means that the majority hold it in regard. Not just we few.
PS: Have any of you noticed that the bumbling lawyer from Boston Legal is now the medical examiner on CSI MIAMI. Acting nearly as disfunctional. :)

I'm guessing there's some joke here that I'm not getting, but the statement was true; that was an awesome show.
(
http://www.hulu.com/quantum-leap) Quantum Leap is another great show that ran for five seasons, but really should have gone more. They did quite a lot with the concept and could have done a lot more had the show lived on.
One that I heard of a few years ago is (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_2.0) Jake 2.0. A computer geek working IT at the NSA becomes accidentally infected with nanobots which integrate with his body enhancing his strength, stamina, endurance and senses, and giving him the power to interface wirelessly with any computer. It was a great sci-fi cop show, but was cancelled after only 16 episodes.

I'm guessing you're suffering selective amnesia on the awful last season.
I would say
Futurama here, but I'm not sure that counts anymore since it's been brought back to life.
Invader Zim and
Angel, both of which were cut down in their prime.

It's the one I've seen the least of, so I don't remember much about it.

I don't know if they'd have been able be any good for another season, but The Invisible Man and Dark Angel.
How about series that were cut down way beyond their time? For example, Stargate: SG-1, which could probably have done with being stopped after around season 5...
