Sometimes archetypes have so many properties, or big properties like particles, or links with lots of data, that noting the required values can be error prone and time consuming, as can the process of then setting those values in the destination mission.

NewDark's DML files allow this to be done in a way that I think it much easier, especially for sharing with other users as you can make a single DML file to handle everything.
