I was "born" under the sign of the ritual and turn undead is supposed to have a 100% chance of working. I'm not getting any result. This is my first Elderscrolls game so I'm not familiar with the way things work. Seems very different from M&M or Wizardry. Could someone tell me how to use turn undead in the "beginner's tomb" near Seyda Neen? (And while you're at it, could someone explain how to "use" armorer to repair weapons and armor?):erg:

Looking at the manual you will find that 'Turn Undead' makes an undead more likely to flee. Also check whether your power is touch or target (aka ranged), I can't remember which right now.
To use Armorer you should equip the apropriate tool (check your manual once more).

I just had a nagging feeling that you MIGHT believe that 'turn undead' actually allows your character to turn into a skeleton or zombie rather than its actual purpose of increasing the likelihood that an undead creature will flee from you rather than attack.
This is a guess mind you so please don't be offended if I'm wrong. :)

No, I DO mean getting them to flee from me. I use the appropriate spell, either touch or target, but they just keep attacking me. I think I'd better learn how to do this before moving on in the game or I might be in for a bit of trouble later! :tsktsk:

Just so i'm clear on your situation who are 'they' exactly? What type of enemy are you fighting? What is the name of the cave / tomb you are in? If you don't know right click so you can see your inventory and it will tell you the name of the place above the map.

"They" are the wraiths in the tomb. The tomb is Thelas Ancestral Tomb outside of Seya Neen. The "Official Guide" calls it a starter tomb, with a St. Veloth shrine.

I don't think I've ever been in that tomb - I might check it out though as I don't think I've come across a wraith before. :)
Are wraiths like ghosts in that they can't be hurt by non-magical weaponry?
In regards to turn undead i don't have much experience but perhaps Morrowind doesn't class wraiths as 'undead' seems strange i know but in morrowind vampires aren't undead either... well its debateable anyway but suffice to say I wonder whether turn undead would work on them.
Perhaps turn undead only works on skeletons, bonewalkers, and bone lords?
